Reflection on Weaving the Web

Weaving the Web, by Tim Berners-Lee, is a book describing how Tim Lee’s ambition made what the internet is now today. Chapter 1 was mostly about him describing the possibility of having computers connected together for faster information sharing. He also described that he basically joined with others who had similar ambitions.

People now have a web of information at their fingertips. I admit that if Tim never had this dream, the World Wide Web would have been very different from today, or at least slowly developed. Imagine a world without the internet. No online dictionary/encyclopedia, no MySpace/Facebook/YouTube, No online gaming. Would you like to live in a world like that? I wouldn’t like it, that’s for sure!

About Me

Hi, my name is Thong, but it’s pronounced as “Tom.” I’m a junior from Connally High School. I have been at Pflugerville High School for the past two years. This is my first year here, but I have gotten used to all the shenanigans that happen around. I’m Vietnamese and first born. I live with my mom, sister, stepdad, his parents, and his nephew. Oh and about 6 dogs. My sister is also a freshman at Connally. My goal for the year is to pass all my classes. Hobbies include video gaming, yugioh, watching anime, web surfing, and hanging out with friends, if time permits.
